U9B Navy Crowned Champions at Atlanta Peach Classic
On their 2nd tournament participation of the year, the U9B Navy team won the Atlanta Peach Classic Post Season Tournament while participating on the Maroon Division. The boys arrived to the final match after winning all 3 group stage games, where they outscored their opponents 36-5. On the final match, they faced a very tough Athens United 05 Gold. Macon United’s team went up on the score early in the game, but Athens was able to answer quickly to tie the game only a few minutes later. After that goal scored against them, Macon Navy’s team never looked back and gained the momentum needed to score more goals and finish winning the game 5-1. The U9B Navy are trained by Adrian Juarez and coached by Will Jordan and Chris Reeves.
U10G Red Runners Up at Atlanta Peach Classic
Macon United’s U10G team had a great performance at the Atlanta Peach Classic. While playing 8v8 on the tournament’s top division (Gold), the U10G had 2 very well played first games, and they managed to gain 2 win against very good competition such as AIS Eagles and 04 Lady Strikers Blue (4-1 & 3-1 respectively). The team reached the final match despite of losing their last group stage match against TopHat 23 Gold. On the final game, Macon United’s U10G would face once again the same very strong TopHat team. The girls fought and played very hard, but came short and ended up losing 8-0. The U10G team is trained by Hollis Springer and coached by Dale Pressley.
U12G White Runners Up at Atlanta Peach Classic
Macon United U12G White team finished their Academy careers by participating on the Atlanta Peach Classic Tournament. The U12G topped their division’s bracket after gaining 2 great wins on Saturday against InterAtlanta FC 02 Excel (1-0) and HCSA Caged Lightning (3-1). With these 2 wins, they qualified to play that final game on Sunday, against Lady Ambassadors Gold 02. The girls played an amazing final match, but unfortunately fell short and lost by 1-0. The team is trained by Missy Lutes and coached by Daryl Barryhill. Good luck in Select girls!
U11B Runners Up at Atlanta Peach Classic
Macon United’s U11 Boys finished the season strong by reaching the final match at Atlanta Peach Classic. While participating on the tournament’s top division (Gold), the team advanced to the final match after 2 wins and a loss. The 2 wins came after beating InterAtlanta FC 03 Gold (4-0) and 03 South Metro United FC (2-1). The only loss was against GSA 03 Red Granite by 4-3, which will turn to be the opponent they would have to face on the final game. Once again, Macon United’s U11B came out a little short and ended up losing by 1 goal (3-2). The boys are trained and coached by Richie Edmondson.
