US Soccer National Grassroots Courses

US Soccer has replaced the National F and the National E courses with new Grassroots courses aimed specifically at the grassroots game models 4v4, 7v7, 9v9 and 11v11.  Each game model has two courses for a total of 8 grassroots courses.  For example, the 4v4 game model has an in-person 4 hour-long 4v4 course and an online 2 hour 4v4 course. These are the coaching courses that are administered by the state associations on behalf of US Soccer.  The curriculum for these courses is designed by US Soccer and delivered by Georgia Soccer’s Instructors.  These courses are aimed at the recreational, introductory and intermediate levels and are the pre-requisites for the US Soccer ‘C’, ‘B’, and ‘A’ Residential courses.  The courses under this category are the National  Grassroots 4V4, 7V7, 9V9, 11V11 licenses in-person and online courses and the National ‘D’ License.

In an effort to further improve the grassroots soccer environment for both players and coaches, U.S. Soccer has restructured the foundation of its coaching license pathway. The new Grassroots Licensing Courses, which replace the F and E License Courses, offer an a-la-carte approach meant to empower coaches with education that is relevant to their specific coaching needs. The Grassroots Licenses will help coaches ensure fun, enjoyable, and developmentally appropriate environments for their players. Prospective coaches will have the option to partake in any of these new courses – in any sequence – after completing a cost-free, Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module provided by U.S. Soccer.
