Select Soccer at Macon Soccer Club is designed for the player who is willing to develop and compete alongside players with equally high skill, ability and commitment level. All players seeking to play on Select teams in the U13-U19 age groups must attend tryouts at the beginning of June in order to be place on a team. Tryouts dates and times are published on our website every year.

Following tryout evaluations, if it is determined by our Trainers that a player’s skill set and abilities are such that he or she will benefit from involvement in the Select Soccer program, the player will be offered a roster slot on an MSC Select team appropriate for the player’s skill level, age and development needs. Our main focus of the Select Soccer program is to place continued player and team development at the forefront of team placement decisions.

Select Program objectives are:

-          To create an environment in which players can reach their full potential and achieve the self-confidence and positive self-esteem necessary to be successful both on and off the soccer field.

-          To develop individual skills, and team tactics to enable players and/or teams to compete at the highest level.

-          To provide consistent, organized, and purposeful instruction and training by MaconSC trainers during the course of the season. 

-          To promote the game of soccer, while building character, self-esteem and confidence in each player.

-          To teach players about commitment, leadership and sportsmanship.

Girls (Athena) and Boys (Classic) teams are assigned to divisions by the Georgia Youth Soccer Association (GYSA) and will travel to venues to compete against teams from other soccer organizations. Regular season games are scheduled by GYSA and it includes 10 games (5 home and 5 away). Normally, each team attends a Pre-Season and Post-Season tournament.
